Divine Pop. Mambo Psalms. Gogo Masses.

Always eager to honour our national motto, Mucho Gusto thought it would be righteous and good to resuscitate this unique period of our musical heritage. The Résurrection! compilation offers a taste of some of the most amazing Christian popular chants from Quebec, recorded during its heyday of 1961-1978.

The selections of titles chosen here reflect not only the spiritual explorations of the clergymen musicians but also from already established popular Quebec artists. Let the music lovers come to us, for tonight, we’re gonna rock the altar! And let us reassure the more pious among you: like Labelle & Angélil sang, “there is always room for a Quebecois in Heaven…” Amen!

    Hi!
This looks great! Will the deluxe vinyl edition be available other places than here? The postage from Canada to Norway is crazy, so I’d prefer to buy from my regular Euro distributor.

    • Rico dit :

Hi! You might be able to buy the vinyl in Europe (a few stores have it), but the Deluxe Edition is only available through download at Mucho Boutique.

  • pfft dit :

Thanks, but I’m still a bit confused :)
Are there only 12 tracks on the regular vinyl edition, and 18 songs on the deluxe vinyl edition (plus 7 more tracks you can download)?
If that’s the case I’ll definitely buy the deluxe edition from you. Please let me know.

    • Rico dit :

OK! There are in fact 12 tracks on the vinyl itself, one of which is a vinyl exclusive, plus 6 tracks that are available via the download card you get with the vinyl. That makes 18 tracks total for the vinyl. The CD/Digital package has the same tracks, but minus the vinyl exclusive, for a total of 17.

Then, if you get either Deluxe Edition (Vinyl Deluxe, CD Deluxe or Digital Deluxe), there’s 7 more tracks you can get only from Mucho Boutique (Bandcamp). So that’s 25 tracks total for the Deluxe Edition Vinyl.

This comp has been a few years in the making, that explains why it has so many great tracks ;-).

    Thanks, I understand (finally!)
Ah, what the hell, I just ordered a deluxe vinyl copy from you, and I’m downloading the FLACs as we speak. Can’t wait to get the actual vinyl :)

BTW, do you have any plans for a vinyl edition of Freakout Total 3?
And do Freakout vols. 1 & 2 even exist?

  • Rico dit :

Good choice! Freak Out v.3 in vinyl would make complete sense, but I can’t speak for any plans. The next volume (if there’s one) would be called vol. 333. See, there’s a logic to it ;-) (so no, there are no vols. 1 and 2)
